What we collect, why, and what we will not do with it.

What we collect

What you tell us on an application, what our licensed producers record about your account, documents you upload, call recordings and transcripts, payment records held by our processor, and - where state law permits and only with a permissible purpose - consumer reports such as motor vehicle records, loss history, and insurance scores.

Why

To quote, place, service, and renew insurance for you, and to meet the record-keeping obligations that come with a license. Nothing else.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not put personally identifiable information into marketing analytics without your consent. We do not use protected health information in a property-casualty model. We do not share your data with a carrier we are not submitting your risk to.

Consumer reports and adverse action

If information in a consumer report causes an adverse decision, you receive an adverse-action notice naming the reporting agency, your right to a free copy of the report, and your right to dispute what is in it.

Calls and texts

Calls to and from IronKey are recorded and transcribed for quality, training, and errors-and-omissions purposes, with consent language matched to your state's recording statute. Texts require your consent; consent is not a condition of purchase; reply STOP to opt out.

Retention

Quotes, recommendation rationales, transcripts, and recordings are retained for at least seven years. That is not a preference - it is what defends both of us if there is ever a dispute about what was recommended and why.

Your rights

Depending on your state you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to opt out of certain sharing. Records we must keep under insurance law are retained regardless, and we will tell you when that applies.
